The normal toned colors are because our society has taught us to see a skull that way. Sure, we might see it that way in a science sense, but that doesn't mean it needs to be our perception... Although society has seemed to force what we SEE to be our perception of it as well. That is how the world is now, it seems.
The other half, the pink colors, represent someone's, (my) perception of a skull's appearance. I don't view a skull, symbolizing death, to be gloomy and dark, but instead to be happy and almost a relief. My father died 11 yrs ago and I would like to think that he is happy and relieved to no longer live in this corrupted world.
